For the past 30 years, many people in Japan feel that our country has been gradually weakened by political decisions that do not prioritize Japan itself. Our infrastructure is aging, yet repairs and renewal are often delayed or ignored. Tax money is increasingly sent overseas. Systems have been created that make it easier for foreign capital to buy Japanese companies and assets. One of the most pressing issues today is immigration. Before the election, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi stated that immigration would be reconsidered from a zero base, and she was elected with that message. However, now policies promoting “multicultural coexistence” are being advanced, and many people feel that opposing opinions are ignored or quietly suppressed.
